The Haunted House (La Casa Encantada) is a music show on KUSF.org radio in San Francisco.
This is the second show, aired on Sept. 20 2013, day of the autumn solstice and under the influence of the Harvest Moon.
Thus the show was dedicated to the Queen of Night on Earth. We had songs of lunacy, lycanthropy and love under the moonlight by Jonathan Richman, the Carter Family, Genoa Keawe, the girls of the San Juan School in Trinidad, Django Reinhardt, Maria Lataretu, Piero Umiliani, Los Jardineros and many more! The salutation to los santos was a warning against false magicians by Vinicius de Moraes, Toquinho and Maria Creuza with their Canto de Ossanha.Vae, Vae!

The Ghost Host and his Wonderful Creature Popoff

The Ghost Host, who has been known to morph into different creatures —such as the Black Cat, the Ballroom Ghost, the Raven, the Spanish Professor, the Aging Man or the Egyptian Lady, to name a few—, lives in the Haunted House (La casa encantada). There he hears voices from the past speaking in tongues. He discovered a treasure of old records with moldy dusty grooves hidden in a crypt and covered by cobwebs, which is what you will hear at the House.
Popoff is the ghost's faithful yet shady servant, a creature born in the House out of an unholy matrimony of chance and chemistry.
Beware of bizarre spells in chants from all around the world, bewitching songs with such absurd names as rumbas, cumbias, mambos, guarachas, soukous, bulerías, bombas, guajiras, plenas, fox-trots, hot dances, hulas, tamures, ragas and many many more.
Abandon all hope ye who enter here, and put on your dancing shoes!
