BORRACHOS: JOHN BARLEYCORN AND HIS PINK ELEPHANTS at the Haunted House - Show # 64 - Dec 11 2015

Dear Hiccuping Hicks of the Jury,

BEWARE THE RIVERS OF WHISKEY!
(There We Wept!)

HANG OVER THE VOICES IN YOUR HEAD!
ABANDON ALL HOPE YE WHO ENTER, AND BRING YOUR PINK ELEPHANTS!

For today, as the sun goes down and the final exams approach for so many students,
\we get drunk and high in spirits to celebrate the approaching Holidays and to beware
the innocent teetotalers of the terrible fate that awaits the drinker!

In other words, today we toast and raise our glasses to drunks, winos, drunkards,
dipsomaniacs, sots, topers, bibbers, guzzlers, soakers, sponges, tosspots,
barflies, souses and thirsty souls
everywhere,

As we go on a binge, on a bender, and we raise awareness about the effects of John Barleycorn,
of any firewater, booze, rotgut or nectar, any broth, soup, hooch and white mule,
potion, sauce or moonshine,

We will discuss drinking and drunkenness:
why do people love that little brown jug?
we talk potation and libation,
imbibing and inebriation, bacchanals and dipsomania
,

So come with us and get drunk as a skunk, as an owl;
get tipsy, intoxicated, cockeyed and inebriated,
shellacked, thoroughly soused and fried,

Come with us and take a dram, a draft or a sip, a nip or a sup, a pull, a swill, a gulp and a swig!

CHASING SHADOWS at the Haunted House - Show # 63 - Dec 4 2015

Dear Creatures of the Night,

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
The Shadow knows!

Beware the howls of night!
Listen to the voices of darkness!
Abandon all hope ye who enter here, and put on your eye shadow!

Today, as the Winter Solstice approaches and the odious days keep getting shorter and shorter, making (finally!) the nights longer and longer; tonight, in the best and longest nights of the year, at the time where we can finally bask in the moonlight and get our wonderful pale tan; tonight we celebrate the sun going down by chasing shadows at the Haunted House!

Beware the shady creatures that lurk in the Haunted Swimming Swamp!
Watch out for furtive movements in the perfect darkness of our souls!
We are fascinated by this concept, "shadow", which most of you creatures seem to cast. BEWARE!

    As I sd to my
friend, because I am
always talking,—Popoff, I

sd, which was not his
name, the darkness sur-
rounds us, what

can we do against
    it...

Yours in Darkness,
The Shadow of a Ghost

THANKS BUT NO THANKS from the Haunted House - Show # 62 - Nov 20 2015

Dear Turkey Trotters,

Beware the hormones and the fat!
Listen to the sizzling oil!
Abandon all hope ye who enter here, and put on your aprons!

Today at the Haunted House we celebrate Thanksgiving. We got to say, spirits and ghosts are not usually very thankful creatures, so this has been a difficult choice.
Once you see the inevitability of all actions and events in the cosmic gravy of eternity, it's not easy to properly "thank" anything that took part in that chain. It's not like it had any choice, is it?

But let's not digress. We have made our favorite delicatessens for you. Ghosts don't eat things that cast a shadow, so that limits the options.
Still, we have our classic Roasted Bat, out secret recipe and very famous Black Widow Sauce, our wonderful Mashed Mosquitoes and our special well-known Chrysanthemums on the Cob.

We have found out that apparently the Turkey theme was a kind of soft erotica for our elders, because what could be more arousing than a scantily clad lady about to strangle an innocent creature to death and then roast it? Nothing, that's what.
And thus we get these centerfolds from magazines like the Puritanical Playboy and newspapers like the Salem Witch Burner:

And we celebrate the birthday of THE THING! Not to miss!

Popoff, Are You Ready or Not?

GOIN' DOWN SOUTH with The Haunted House - Show # 61 - Nov 6 2015

Dear Corporeal Presences, Come listen to us today if you dare, for we are travelling far away...

Yes, the Haunted House is moving SOUTH! We are GOING DOWN, babies! It is going to be difficult to move. What with all the 4th Dimensional creatures that are not included in any moving company insurance, not to mention the impossibility of moving THE THING...

But we are confident and optimistic. We have emptied the Spook Dancehall, we have already packed all our dungeons (balls and chains not included) and we are finishing loading the Goblins into their Goblin Trip Carriers. We have unscrewed the dark matter lightbulbs and we have covered the multidimensional mirrors. WE ARE READY TO GO!
We are moving to "one of those Southern states where the governor's a crook". Oh we can't wait to spook them! Oh, the places we'll see, oh, the people we'll meet...

Georgia Native and Future Neighbor Barbecue Bob
A String Band from Georgia
Peg Leg Howell and Friends
R L Burnside from Mississippi
So far, the Surreal State Agents have been showing us some new locations for our House. It's not easy to find a place swampy enough, dismal yet completely untouched by sunlight, and with a graveyard on the backyard...

These are some places they showed us. This is, by far, our favorite:

But you can't deny the charm of this affordable yet convenient condo, very close to the Alligator routes and the bat migration stops:

And then there's the neighbors:

TRACKLIST:

1 - Goin’ Down South — R L Burnside
